Reiki outreach confirmed for Seattle retirement home

Horizon House has just confirmed that The Reiki Fellowship will be providing Reiki sessions to their independent and assisted living communities.
Our initial outreach last month has proved fruitful to now go forward and begin working with elderly and staff in a structured, mainstream health care environment!
Details on dates and times forthcoming, but Mondays seem to be the day picked out for weekly offerings.
I’m reminded of the adage, if you put it out to the Universe, it will manifest! I keep the vision of expanding into other health care settings strong and know it will continue to expand as we travel the rest of the year!

I have come across Reiki many times in recent weeks while researching counseling and I am not sure I understand. Is Reiki purely for physical ailments or can it deal with mental issues such as depression?

Hi Abraham,
Reiki works extremely well in helping clients who suffer from depression and anxiety. I am a mental health counselor as well as a Reiki master/practitioner and incorporate the modality into my sessions. Reiki helps to bring the nervous system to a sense of calm and helps to alleviate emotional issues. In some cases, clients have resolved emotional issues as well. I created a modality I call Insight Reiki that combines elements of counseling and guided imagery in the session to work through such processes. Thank you for the reply. I have seen some who offer Reiki sessions online. I think I am going to try that and see how it goes.
